So this evening we have a presentation by yours truly on tax increment district number five incentive designation and allocation agreement and associated budget implications. So it's my pleasure today to share some big news about Microsoft's investments in Mount Pleasant. More than three years ago, in this same room and in this very same chair, I announced that Microsoft was coming to Mount Pleasant. At the time, I said the benefits to the community would not be could not be overstated. And that's certainly proven true. But I could not have predicted the historic announcement that we're making today. Microsoft's projects have already done a lot for Racine County. The company has invested billions of dollars here supporting Wisconsin manufacturers, builders, hotels and restaurants. Its first data center has already created 550 permanent jobs and hundreds more are on the way as additional buildings are completed. Microsoft has invested in education and workforce development to prepare residents for careers. It has restored land parrot Creek in Mount Pleasant back to a beautiful area for wildlife. And that brings us today's big news. Microsoft will return its development incentives totaling $5 million a year back to the community of Mount Pleasant. Of that, $4.9 million a year will come back to the village of Mount Pleasant itself. We in the village government have heard the call for property tax relief. That's why the village will dedicate every dollar of this funding to reduce Mount Pleasant's portion of the property tax burden on our residents starting immediately. When you look to the bottom line of your tax bill in December, remember that that number would have been higher if not for this funding from Microsoft. That benefit will continue for years to come in the villages share of local property taxes. Our goal is to use this annual funding from Microsoft to keep the villages property tax rate stable or potentially lower it over time. In addition to this tremendous resource for the village of Mount Pleasant, Microsoft is directing $100,000 of the incentives to the Racine County Economic Development Corporation. RCEEDC will use that funding to support economic growth throughout Racine County. These payments to the village and RCEEDC will continue for as long as tax increment district number five where Microsoft's data centers are located remains in place. It is another way for Microsoft's projects to help residents right now even before the tax incremental district closes and creates additional property tax benefits. So let me close by saying thank you on behalf of all of our residents to Microsoft for returning this incentive money to the community. Thoughts? Yay. Wonderful news. Very generous of Microsoft and a great thing that we can tell the residents that even though they got the incentive, they are giving it back to us in order to keep our taxes as low as possible. When we talk to the residents and that's one of the top questions, what are we getting from all the all the investment in the Microsoft and this is the first of many many to come every year as Mr. President you said and this is even before we close the tip. That take close. That number I can't even imagine right now. So my point is thank you Microsoft again for returning for it's like a dividend to the investors of the community and many more to come and I think I like to give this for Microsoft. Okay. Mr. President, I would just echo everything that Denise and Ram just mentioned. You know, when we talked to we knew when we found out Microsoft was interested in coming to the area and everything was presented to us. We never imagined what we see today as we drive out there. So thank you very much to Microsoft and hopefully the citizens of Mount Pleasant also appreciate what they're doing and how this will affect their tax base. I'm very appreciative of this as well. I am hearing a lot of questions about when we'll get tax relief and so I'm hoping that Sean Ryan you're going to be preparing a press release and this message will get out so that since there's only a handful of people here in the room. And a lot of people may not be pulling up the recording of this meeting. We should try to make sure we get that good news out to all the residents so that people start understanding the whole. We have come full circle. So I think it's important. Thank you, Dave. There's a press release as we speak. Yeah, just to see that the ability to bring back and give back to the communities is awesome. I mean, all of the data center buzz that has been going on. It's nice to see that here's something where they're going to be in the big showing that there is a very positive impact from a data center, which I think is going to go a long way. Well, I have a couple thoughts on that. Yeah. And one of the questions to ask is, well, why did we give the incentive in the first place? And the answer to that is in order to get something, you have to give something. And what we were interested in getting from Microsoft was an assurance that they would build to a certain level of taxable real estate. We wanted to guarantee that they would build enough real estate that it would protect the taxpayers because of the additional infrastructure and whatnot that we may have had to put in. We wanted to be sure that the taxpayer would be protected. That's always our first and foremost concern. And then the other question and something that David just touched on is it's been popular in certain circles to bash data centers. And I can't speak to what goes on in other communities before or against. But I do know our history with Microsoft. And Microsoft, every step of the way, has just been a genuine corporate citizen. They say what they're going to do. They do what they say they did. They have this habit of under promising. And they have a similar habit of absolutely over producing and knocking it out of the park. And because of that, we couldn't be blessed with a better corporate partner. And for that reason, we were just doubly blessed today that Microsoft once again is over producing by giving their incentive back. And Dave, they were responsive. When there were issues of humming and noise and light, they responded. And so I think you should give credit on that front as well. They've been a great partner. So, where are we on the consent agenda? Yeah. Oh, public comment. Members of the public are welcome to provide comments. And any matter, please listen for the president to recognize you. State your name and address for the public record. Comments are limited to three minutes. Anybody in the chambers wishing to speak? I have nobody signed up. So we may close public comment and the consent agenda motion, please. Mr. President, I make a motion to approve the item and consent agenda as presented. Second. We have motion and a second. All in favor signify the same aye. Aye. Aye. Opposed? So that is approved. And I don't believe that we have any other business. One last motion. Motion to adjourn. No. So we have motion and a second. All in favor signify by saying aye. and we have an item seven on page two that's that's that's that's that's still because okay my apologies just hold I yeah okay we stand adjourned happy morning my you
