over on your shotgun. It's still Steven's 12 gauge. And we're going to go
over to the two states.
Here's Mike Arrowwood, chairman of the all the walleyes for tomorrow's chapter evening. I thought I'd give you an update on what walleyes for
tomorrow's been up to since last year. Those years I'd like to fish green bane. This was my second year of our walleye
gagging program up on green bane. And what if this man had a figure out what human exploitation is on the population of walleye population green bane. And last year
human exploitation was calculated to be about 5%. This year we doubled the number of tags that were put in the last year then. We doubled the number of tags that were put in the system and human exploitation was determined to be called 10%.
While I saw sustained walleye population, which may remain is, it was stand about 35% human exploitation report to some of the detriment to the population. So we're enraging from the bay of green bane. The population is robust. This past year, they had the largest lawn that they've ever encountered on the bay of green bane. So that would be good. Those fish would be good for another 8-10 years.
People take them out at this time, obviously. The other issue was about the other issue. The other thing that we had, it was very interesting, was on shuttle lake. We've been running after a year now for 13 years. And the DNR every under years stops on top of our stocking. And what we found last year was that 82% of the fall fingerings that they surveyed came out of the walleyes for the raw patch. That was even after they had put 32,000 in just before the survey was done.
We just had a conference, DNR fisheries manager and our manager at Toronto made the statement that the walleyes for tomorrow is the most successful method of stocking that exists in the state of Wisconsin.
We've had 89% for 6th century. On green lake, one year we had 88% success. Another year we had 69% success.
So the way that we released the pride, you know, these little guys are only two main goals when we turn them loose.
The fact is, is the amount of fish that we put in the lake, we attempt to and almost always manage to put 2,000 for surface nature in the lake.
Austin's creation is natural mortality, so it makes a big difference.
This year we're building a hatching. It will be placed at Long Lake over by Dundee. We've never had hatching in the gathering before.
So that'll be a new event of course. We'll be running at you again this year on Lake Geneva.
Milwaukee Lake, big steater, little steater, green lake, long lake, shawty lake, the monaco chain, the manateur's chain, and sobering lake up by the coast.
So we're doing well, we're well supported. I tell everybody I meet, and I meet the best people in state of Wisconsin.
There are people that like to volunteer to help and do things. It is a positive endeavor.
