in the amendment that is before us.
But I'm hearing some of the same rhetoric
that I remember hearing during the floor debate.
And so without really looking back at some
of the specific things that members
that are here are saying, but kind of the thematic elements
that I have heard in the course of the debate
in the assembly which was several hours.
And I didn't get a chance to talk then
and I'm hearing them repeated now.
So I come from a state line area.
I represent Eastern Rock and Western Wallworth counties.
Prior to being elected, I worked
at the Greater Bloitte Chamber of Commerce.
Our chamber included South Bloitte, Bloitte,
and the Rock and Roscoe and the surrounding communities
and towns around the city of Bloitte.
We always felt like we needed to cooperate internally
to compete externally.
And that was basically saying that this is about
regional success.
This is about what can we do to work together
because this isn't about Wisconsin versus Illinois.
This is about opportunities for people
that live, work, and play on either side of the line.
So I can take this opportunity and look at it and say,
this isn't about Wisconsin versus Illinois.
This is about Middle America, the Midwest in America.
And I will take the position
that Representative Quienga brought up
during the floor debate in the assembly,
which this is bringing an entire industry to America.
This is putting Midwest manufacturing back on the map.
And so if it helps Illinois in the process, that's okay.
If it helps Minnesota or if it helps Michigan,
if it helps Indiana, if it helps Iowa,
we're at the point where we need to know
what the next generation of jobs is gonna look like.
And now we sort of have an idea
that there are gonna be some high-tech,
long-term opportunities for future generations in Wisconsin.
And I don't know that we could say that a few years ago.
So regarding just the simple demand for workers,
I talked to one of my economic development people
about how long the construction would take
and what that might look like as far as,
would Rock County have an opportunity
or Wallworth County have an opportunity
to maybe be part of the contracting?
