But by the end I Thank you my God. Thank you my God. Why? Who is LEDs? Oh my God. I don't know where Jamie is. Ready? Where was your mom? No, no, no. Mom? God's love. Mom, is it Ms. Mom? You are smart. We were the tradition and the Biden family actually is my wife's tradition and I'll get trouble while I don't exercise it. Both are birthdays today. You have to sing Happy Birthday. Ready? Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday dear Happy Birthday to you! Now you have to let my wife know that I did what I was supposed to do. God's love. It's gonna smell kind of 16, didn't it? You haven't got there yet. God's love. Well, I'll tell you what. I'm trying to do a Biden family. I'm 40 times 2 plus 1. I can't even say it anymore, man. I can't even say it anymore. Oh, I forgot all the presents here. I'd better be cursed. Thanks for having me. All right. A few times I walked over to the chief former chief police and not arrested. Anyway, thank you, thank you, thank you. Look, I can't tell you how much I appreciate you. You've got to be smart. What's he doing? What's your name? How old are you? You know that guy? What's your name? Anyway, I know this reminds me of when I first started running for office 180 years ago. I got elected to the United States Senate when I was 29 years old. And I come from a very modest family. We lived in a three-bedroom, split-level home in the neighborhood that was in suburban areas of the building. And with four kids and a grandpa. But we thought we were okay. We thought we were all right. But my state of Delaware, I got involved in politics because of the African American community. I got, we had the eighth largest black population of the percentage of America into our great chain. Delaware was the slave state. We had all the vestiges, the states sort of divided it. Two-thirds and one-third. One-third top. We had a canal that separates the entire state, connects the Chesapeake Bay and the Delaware River. And everything above the canal is basically more northeast or central states. Everything south of the canal is southern. And I mean, for real, I'll talk to you in my case. And for real. And you should sort of, you know, I'm going to mark up on this, et cetera. Everybody thinks that the bond company is the biggest thing in Delaware. The biggest thing in Delaware. Chickens. Not as serious. It's the single biggest $400 million industry. But my point is that I got involved because when I first got it and I got out of law school and I went to law school, I had to get some clean ass help to get there. And I got to law school and I got back. I got a job with a fancy firm, the biggest oldest firm in the state. And it was called Cricket Org Burton Sanders. And I got the job. But unfortunately, in my state, I showed all the land. When Wellington Delaware was the only city of America I could buy by the National Guard since the Civil War because the Dr. King, who was one of my heroes, when he got assassinated, we had riots in Delaware. And so the southern governor was a Democrat. He was a southerner in terms of his attitudes. He put the National Guard up straight for ten months on every corner of John Bannett's only city of America, or I could buy it since the Civil War. And I quit this fancy law firm and became a public defender because of their honor. Oh! And so in the year I saw Iran came to me and said, they want me to run from the local people running for the state senate and I said, I can't do that. Because I'm just working part-time as a public defender and part-time senate for law practice. And I can't go to dough because I won't be able to make a living. And so I came back to me three days later to run for county council. I said, I can't do that. And I walked over the window and my office said, right over there, that's a courthouse. It meets there twice a week, you can make it. So I checked this true story. So I checked it out and no one had ever won the district. They wanted me to run it. So I said, what the hell? I'll do it. Because I won't win. I'll make it for the double. No, I didn't think of it because I thought we'd begin to build. I kept arguing more people should get engaged in Iran to change the nature of the democratic country. So what happened was I made a mistake. I made a mistake. My best friend in the world, my sister. That's okay. The man is my campaign. My sister is three years younger. It used to be three years younger. Now she's 23 years younger. By the way, there is no man in the Biden household that's any younger than any woman in the house. That's the family room you think I'm kidding. Anyway, she managed my campaign and I won. And I won a four-year term. And I didn't want to go in the nation of six years though. But it turns out the decennial, every ten years, you know, they redo the districts. So I got reapportioned from a four-year term to a two-year term. Because the Republican saw some of me I didn't see. That they thought I was going to win for higher office. So I'm going around the state trying to get people around. There's a group of seniors, members of the Democratic Party, the long ones who are mainstream Democrats. Or that's right. Came to me and said one day I was going to the Democratic Convention down in Dover, Delaware, the off-year convention. And I was trying to get other people around for office. I joined a small group with Democratic Coalition to get mainstream pro-choice, pro-liberal, pro-black, pro- and typical Northeast Democrat. And so I went down to the convention with three of the guys that I had come down with. I had a radio talk show in the clock kind of game. A few others anyway. After the recession I went back to the motel. I wanted these motels to drive up. No building in Dover, Tarrant, and larger were the first stories at least in my last day. Not a joke. And so I went to the side and went to take a shower and shaved. We went back that night. So I made one of those night eight by ten showers. You know, I was rushing from the motel. And with a shower and a tour of the bath and a shower and a sink. And I had a towel around me and a shaver came in. I'm shaving. I'm shaving. Bam, bam, bam. I'm on the door of a hotel room. I mean, a motel room. So I figured some guys that came down with, you know, give me a towel. I said, oh, come in. I opened the door. I had a razor in my hand, shaving cream, and a towel around me. I was foreseeing the Democrats standing. The former chief justice of the state of Delaware who had more people than his family as the U.S. senator when I used to vote for the legislature than any family American district. But then I should say, in Delaware district, the state chairman and the congressman who was a good guy who had lost three terms because he was too progressive. And a guy named Edward Carvel, a big guy, a dog, a patchy-like. He has formed a double. I know I'm a boy in here. Anyway. So I'm going to embarrass the cell. I'm standing with a towel around me in the hotel room that has the headboards down on the wall. You know, it's clean. Two beds. Two beds. And the desk made out of the wall. And so I said, come here, gentlemen. You mean minute? And I went back to thinking like a change. Or enough of a change in there. So I went off this, you know, shaving cream, and I walked out, and I'm sitting there. And I leaned against that desk. I'll never forget it. I'm looking at four of these, and to me, two of them, I never met new love. Never met my life. And they said, and the Chief Justice, we just came from a dinner job. And then the governor's going, Joe, we think you should run for the Senate. I said, what? That's right. I got a true story. And his lady asked me to try to improve people to run for the Senate. And I said, I'm not too young. I'm only 29. And the Chief Justice, Joe, you obviously didn't do very well in a constitutional law. Absolutely true. And I said, you have to be 30 to be sworn in, but you can be elected earlier. You just got to wait. And he said, you know, we have to wait 17 days to build you. And so I thought, this is a crazy thing that hurt my life. And I said, thank you, Joe. They left. I went back and rode home with the group. Then I went down. Went to three guys. I went down. Well, when I did before that, I went up. I called. I had a political flossing. I said, you know, I had one professor, one high school teacher, you really respect. And his name was David Ingersoll. And I called him ahead of time. I said, can I stop and see you? Because Dover, though, where it was below New York, Dover, and below my home was the moment. And so I stopped. And I said, I told him what happened. He said, what do you think? He said, what do I say? He said, Joe, remember what Plato said? I mean, what the hell did Plato say? I'm serious. Two story. He said, Plato said, to pedaling to paraphrase Plato, it was a pedaling good people to pay for not being involved in the policy, because being governed by people worse than themselves. You should run. Oh, God. Anyway, so I went home and talked to her with my wife. She said, look, Joe, you're working 40 hours a week trying to get this law firm going. And you're a public defender. And at the same time, you're doing 20 hours or 30 hours making the county council. Either get in or get out. Oh, he was right. But there were a whole lot of things I was worried about back then. I didn't support the Vietnam War. A lot of things going on. And so I ran. And I made a mistake. I asked my sister to manage my campaign. Nixon got 60, 59.8% of the lower dollar, almost 60%. And I won by 3,100 votes. And then I won. And then I got elected because when I run in Delaware, not a joke, I get 90% of the African-American voting. I didn't offer yours since I knew it because there's more constituents than I've been loyal to my constituents. And so things are changing. Guess what? Now Delaware is blue. Blue. Blue. Blue. Blue. Blue. Blue. Blue. Blue. Blue. You've got kids out there. Blue. Blue is you to get. And with a little bit of luck, we've got to make sure that we change things here in this And look, I was going to hush up with my grandfather and say, push up, one of the things that, I think, you know, and I'll be very sure it's just one second to stop, and it's been a question to average, just walk around me each one year individually. You know, I really think democracies at stake here. When I ran the first time, I made a speech at Independence Hall on democracy, and the press, and they're all smart as hell, the press back here wondering why I was talking about democracy back then, and 60% of our polling show people were worried about it, but it wasn't a state. And we ended up winning. But one thing I want you to be aware of, or Trump means what he says. He means what he says, and he says he's going to get rid of all the stuff that we've done, which is making sure that people want to pay 400 bucks a month for insulin for fifth diabetes, instead of three or five dollars. I just go down the whole list, and I was asked by just in an interview with a national reporter in the last stop, I may just ask the question whether or not I thought that what Trump, what he said, what he said, basically, I'm not sure he's going to accept the results of election. I said he won't. So what we really have to do, we can do a lot, because I think the public is really ready to see some change. Anyway, I'm talking too much. Like I said, my mother said, hush up, Joe. I think we're going to shake some hands. I think we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we willing to make sure that we can make sure that we they're going to make sure we kind of, so, what is going to make sure that they're going to make sure that we're going to make sure that we had compared to where we were going to make sure they were going to meet that we're going to meet that We're going to meet that we were going to meet that we were going to meet that we were going to meet on I don't know if you can see it over here and then I want to see the side of the room.
