I know Jimmy from the early 60's when I was recording Earl Hooker...Jimmy came to the studio with a Miss Skinner and group to do a session for Earl when Earl was ill at a Chicago hospital.. I saw Jimmy at the Crystal Bar in Madison, Wisconsin about 4 years ago, and we had a great time reminiscing about the old days. Some friends of mine would like to go to Chicago to hear Jimmy with me, if he is still doing any clubs. I would greatly appreciate finding out if he's playing in Chicago, or area, and when. And I would greatly appreciate a few minutes to shake his hand again and tell him how proud we are to have worked with him. Earl became a close friend during his tough times....and meeting Jimmy Dawkins because of Earl made the whole scene a high light of my recording career. I am planning to re-release (on CD) Earl's album: "The Genius of Earl Hooker"...and I have the "Miss Skinner" recordings with Jimmy yet in the can if he ever wants to do anything with them. Hoping to hear back from you soon. Jim Kirchstein....Cuca Records
